Ewan Chrystal
Its been while since I updated, however I usually skip through emails at this time of the morning... however, this one...

Many of you who have been involved in anime conventions such as Minamicon
and AyaCon will have met Ewan Chrystal, a stalwart member of convention
organising committees over many years.

It is with great personal sadness that I report that Ewan passed away
suddenly on 4th January 2009. He was a great friend, a truly kind and
generous spirit and a hardworking supporter of anime fandom, and he will be
deeply missed.

Defiantly a shock to me, he was a great person that really gave it his all when it came to organising conventions.

Rest in peace Ewan...

Update: 8th Jan I have been asked that if people wish to send condolences please send them to Simon (sn.bland@imperial.ac.uk). He is currently collecting them all from the fandom to give to Ewan's family.

That's v sad. I remember bumping into him at WorldCon 2005 and it was fun to see a familiar, jovial face in a crowd of strangers.

That's terribly sad, Ewan was such a friendly, hard-working person and a really valued member of con staff. How awful to have lost him so suddenly. :(

Very tragic news, Ewan was an awesome guy.

That is really sad, What a loss to the convention comunity :(
He was the very first person on an anime committee that I ever spoke to, back at aya 03 :O
I hope he is happy where ever he may be and he will no doubt be making people laugh :)

A very nice guy. I didn't know him well, but he worked very hard with us on Exhibits for Noreascon IV. Damn.

This is so sad. Ewan was one of the very few bright lights of Denvention.
He was a joy to work with and great fun. A man of quiet integrity.
This is a great loss.
I am embarrassed to ask but is there any one I could (or should) express my condolences to?
